iCite collects and stores user data for multiple purposes in its operations. This document describes the characteristics of data collected, the purposes for collecting, and the end use. It also highlights iCites commitment to protecting its user's stored data, and also the potential legal conditions under which iCite would share personal information.

For the purposes of this Privacy Agreement, the terms "iCite", "iCiteApp.com", "us", and "we" refer to iCite and its employees. The terms "you", "your", "user", "users" refer to the iCite free and paid membership base.

Integrity of Data Storage

iCite owns iCiteApp.com and its associated data storage capabilities. However, we do not own the data that is uploaded by our users. All information submitted to iCite by our users is the property of our users. As such, users are responsible for their uploaded material per the conditions of the iCite Terms of Use document.

We collect personal data for purposes such as billing, profile creation, authentication and identification, research, and the enhancement of our products and services. We will never sell or give out your personal information to third parties. The only exception to this statement is highlighted below (in the Right to Distribute Information statement of this document).

iCite is build around a model of complete security. All of the data stored within the database is stored with redundant organization lookup checks to ensure that the data getting viewed only belongs to your organization. All passwords are stored encrypted within the database to ensure that no data can be compromised. iCite is protected with a 256-bit encrypted SSL certificate.

Right to Distribute Information

iCite reserves the right to access your personal information and distribute to legal authorities under the following conditions:

  1. Illegal use of iCite as defined by local, state, and federal governments (this includes laws surrounding copyright infringement and online file sharing)
  2. Violations of the iCite Terms of Use agreement that require information disclosure
  3. Any other request from a legal authority surrounding the account(s) of our user(s)


A cookie is a small piece of data that is sent to your browser and stored on your computer. Like most sites, iCite uses cookies. However, we do not use cookies to store any of your personal information.

Changes to the Privacy Agreement

iCite may periodically update this Privacy Agreement. When updates are made, we will inform all users. Update notifications will be delivered primarily through emails (our users' main account email) and direct posts to the homepage.
